This handsome card from the Helmar T3 series continues the tradition of the grand,
artistic style inspired by early 1910s Turkey Red cabinet cards. Artist Natali Valiukevich
portrays Hall of Fame pitcher Jesse Haines of the St. Louis Nationals in a poised,
pre-windup stance, his eyes fixed on the target. The gleam of the white uniform, the
bold red piping, and the softly blurred grandstand behind him convey both realism
and nostalgia, evoking the golden years of the Cardinals' dominance.

Haines spent his entire major league career with St. Louis, serving as one of the
club’s most dependable pitchers through the 1920s and early 1930s. A master of the
knuckleball, he won over 200 games and contributed key victories to the Cardinals’
1926 and 1934 World Series championships. Known for his calm demeanor and
craftsmanship on the mound, Haines was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1970.
