Biography

A short bio from the Helmar-R319 card back: Baseball fans love to argue about which player is superior, Ty Cobb or the better known Honus Wagner. It was a treat, then, to have both players appear in the recent 1909 World Series. Cobb dominated his league in batting for the year. The average American League batting average for a player was .239. Ty, however, led them all with a .377 average. Over in the National League, the average batter compiled a .244 mark. Honus did almost 100 points better, coming in at .339.
