Dizzy Trout

Biography

From the "This Great Game" card back: In the 1940s, Trout was one of the “T’s” in Detroit’s famed “TNT” mound trio with teammates Hal Newhouser and Virgil Trucks. He’s not as explosive as dynamite at this stage of his career, but Dizzy can still whip a pretty good fastball to the plate. He has 160 wins to his credit through 1951, all in the employment of the Tigers, whom he helped win the ‘45 World Series. With a low-riding fastball, Dizzy rarely allows home runs.
