Hal Schumacher

Biography

A short bio from the Boston Garter Game of the Century card back: After getting his feet wet with New York last year pitcher Harold “Hal” Schumacher is pairing this season with Carl Hubbell to give the Giants’ the National League’s best lefty-righty combo at the top of the starting rotation. Schumacher combines a big curve and tricky slow ball with a sinking fastball to keep hitters guessing and off balance. Born 11/23/10 in Hinckley, New York, Hal graduated from St. Lawrence College this spring, and the entire Giants’ team attended the ceremony! A favorite of McGraw and the last player signed by him, Schumacher is looking forward to working for the old man again in the July 6 Al vs. NL exhibition game.
