Biography

The short bio from the Helmar-R319 card back: When Uncle Robbie Robinson took the reigns in Brooklyn for the 1914 season, Jake Daubert was already firmly established at the first sack and as a team leader. The job should be his for a long time to come as through 1916 he has failed to bat .300 only once, his rookie season of 1910. His high so far is .350, which he did in 1913. Wilbert Robinson has sure done Brooklyn a good turn in the three seasons that he has managed there. The first year, 1914, they finished in fifth place. The following year they jumped to third and last season, 1916, they won the championship. The man sure knows his baseball!
