Ed Morris

Biography

The short bio from the Helmar-R319 card back: “Big Ed” Morris has spent the last four seasons with the Sox and is an important part of the pitching staff. He’s got great movement on the ball and can blow it by a batter when he’s in a jam. So far his pitching results have not met his potential but it looks like he’s ready to bear down this upcoming season. His best season was his first for Boston, he surprised everyone in baseball by winning 19 games for a Red Sox club that was stuck in eighth place. With more support he could easily have won at least 20 games. Update: Ed was killed in Florida on March 3, 1932.
