Garcia, Mike

Biography

From the "This Great Game" card back: With an easy, almost effortless motion, Garcia deceived hitters with a top-notch fastball that paired well with a 12-to-6 curve that he learned after he got to the big leagues. The sleepy giant of the famed Cleveland pitching staff that included three Hall of Famers (Feller, Lemon, Wynn), Garcia was dubbed “The Big Bear.” He held Ted Williams to a very modest .264 average.
