Chick Gandil

Biography

A short bio from the Helmar-R319 card back: Here’s a hard hitting first baseman that has graduated to become a regular for his team. “Chick” first came up with the Chicago American League team in 1910. He played in 77 games but could only manage a .193 average. In 1911 and part of the following year it was down to Montreal. Chick gained some great experience and joined the Senators for most of ‘12. He batted .305, then .318 as a full timer. He doesn’t hit many homers but is clutch with men on base and is pretty much the best hitter on the second place team. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, he is 6 foot even and 190 pounds.
