He showed very good power, hitting eleven home runs while batting in fifty-four runners. His average was a solid .280. He had three games where he batted in four runners and three games where he batted in three. He also had a ten game hitting streak. Lawrence was born in St. Louis on May 12, 1925 and is five feet, seven inches tall and weighs 185 pounds. He throws right but bats from the left side of the plate.
