Card Statistics

This striking card from the Helmar T3 series depicts outfielder Jimmy Sheckard of the
Chicago Nationals in vivid, full-color glory. Artist Natali Valiukevich paints the veteran
slugger mid-swing, his cobalt-blue uniform set against a sunset sky of rose and violet.
The angular stance and crisp shadow cast across the field evoke motion and discipline,
while the painterly tones recall the craftsmanship of early 20th-century lithographs.
Valiukevich’s composition captures both the grit of a ballplayer and the poetry of the ballpark.

Jimmy Sheckard was a versatile and cerebral player, starring for the Chicago Cubs
during their dominant years of the early 1900s. Known for his exceptional defensive
skills and sharp batting eye, he was a key contributor to the Cubs’ World Series
championships in 1907 and 1908. Sheckard’s combination of speed, strategy, and
leadership made him one of the era’s most respected all-around performers.

Original watercolor painting by Natali Valiukevich.
